Reader report
Written summary of feedback on a full draft manuscript read.
The Authenticity Advocate will read the manuscript in full and provide a general commentary on the full text. This will consist of roughly a page of general written feedback based on their response to the book and the relation to their own lived experience. Line by line feedback/notes directly on the manuscript will not be provided with this level of feedback.
Things they might comment on are:
Physical description of characters
Authenticity of character behaviour & dialogue in context
Stereotypes/tropes that are perpetuated or effectively challenged.
Comments on the authenticity of the story, including how characters interact with others.
Additional nuance that could be included to make the character(s)/story more authentic.
Accessibility
An Authenticity Advocate may be asked to comment on a cover or small chapter heads as part of this, but full illustration feedback should be booked separately.
If when reading the book the Authenticity Advocate thinks that more detailed feedback may be necessary they will let Inclusive Minds know so that we can talk to you before proceeding.
